Welcome to the Caddo-Bossier Parishes Citizen Corps Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) web site. The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a division of the Citizen Corps of the USA Freedom Corps. MRC Units are community-based and comprised of health care professionals who desire to serve as volunteers in their communities during natural or terrorist disasters.
We are recruiting licensed professionals, faculty, and students who have professional training or special interest in the following occupations:

Liz Swaine, Executive Assistant to Shreveport Mayor Keith Hightower, will be honored Thursday, June 22 at 10:30am at the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP), 1511 Doctor's Drive, Bossier City, for her efforts in assisting this North Louisiana community during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Swaine was named as a winner of the “2006 Dedication Award” presented by the Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association at their annual awards banquet earlier this month. The emergency response of the medical community of Northwest Louisiana to the needs of Hurricane Katrina and Rita evacuees was nothing short of phenomenal. This effort was largely organized “on the fly” but has been widely recognized for its effectiveness by others in our state and around the country.
