Do you know what to do if a tornado is approaching your home? Are you interested in learning how local emergency response agencies work together in local disasters? The Caddo Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will be offering a free twenty hour Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course at the Bossier Emergency Operations Center (B-EOC) starting July 28, 2008 and running for three additional Monday nights from 6:00 P.M. to 8:45 P.M.. The 18th annual Tornado Safety Poster Contest was held during APRIL for all 5th graders throughout the two-parish area by the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Liz Swaine, Executive Assistant to Shreveport Mayor Keith Hightower, will be honored Thursday, June 22 at 10:30am at the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP), 1511 Doctor's Drive, Bossier City, for her efforts in assisting this North Louisiana community during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Swaine was named as a winner of the “2006 Dedication Award” presented by the Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association at their annual awards banquet earlier this month.
